CRC Industries UK Limited, manufacturers of industrial aerosols and bulk maintenance chemicals, has launched a new penetrating spray, “Ambersil Rust Flash”. Designed to quickly release severely corroded ferrous metal fasteners, it out performs ‘ordinary’ penetrating sprays on regular to severe corrosion by up to 10 times. Rust Flash should be used when time is short, and a rapid result is needed.

Developed internationally, with research conducted across Europe, Rust Flash is proven to be a highly effective penetrating spray. Maintenance professionals will know that when it comes to ordinary penetrating sprays, engineers have to wait for the active ingredients to slowly seep through the corrosion and rust to get to work on the thread of the fastener, which can take up to 20 minutes if the corrosion is severe.

Rust Flash is said to work up to 10 times faster due to the innovative use of the laws of thermodynamics! When Rust Flash is applied, the spray physically shocks the corrosion down to a maximum of –40ºC by its immediate, localised freezing action. Whilst this shock is not severe enough to harm the metal substrate of the fastener, the rust actually fractures, causing micro-fissures which allow the active penetrating and lubricating ingredients to get down to the core of the fastener and free it quickly.

It is the innovative freezing action, which enables Rust Flash to out perform regular penetrating oils, resulting in time-consuming jobs now being able to be completed when convenient to the works schedule.

Available in a 500ml can with precision applicator attachment, Rust Flash is ideal for jobs where time is critical, and corrosion severe. The larger size also means great value for money.

Rust Flash complements the renowned performance Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) range from Ambersil. It is particularly useful where there are two dissimilar metals and the amount of force to free them is restricted by the risk of sheering, for example, removing glow plugs from a diesel engine.
