Makita up the Pressure in Power Washer Sales
20 April 2006
Makita UK Ltd has launched a power washer range that sets new standards in pressure water delivery.
The new Makita HW130 and HW131 electric power washers both deliver a maximum 130 bar pressure – a dramatic 1820 psi rating – substantially greater than typical DIY machines. Both models, powered by 2.1kw and 2.2kw industrial motors, are suitable for industrial, commercial and domestic activities.
Each has an easy grip lance with adjustable volume control by ‘squeeze trigger’ and twist spray nozzle pattern for variable spray and both feature a built-in power hose reel. Although double insulated, manufacturers recommend the new power washers are used with an RCD unit. The lance-trigger shuts down both the water flow and pump drive for longer life and reliability.
The Makita HW130 has a maximum flow rate of 480 ltr per hour, a 7.5m power hose, triplex axial piston, wobble disc pump and weighs just 17kg and is delivered complete with foaming nozzle with remote detergent tank, rotating brush and alternative nozzles, hose connections and an initial 1 ltr of detergent.
The large HW131 2.2kw machine features a rugged ceramic coated piston pump delivering a mighty maximum of 500 ltr per hour, weighs just 33kg with the same easy-to-control and adjust spray lance and nozzle system and comes with 15m power hose.
"For cleaning operations it’s the pressure at the nozzle that really means business," says Mark Earles, Makita outdoor power equipment National Sales Manager. "Small, expensive, domestic power machines are widely promoted but the performance is poor. If you need to clean algae from paving, drive grime from paintwork or prepare a truck for its MOT, you need power. These new Makita machines deliver 130bar – that’s enough for any site action."
