Pipes represent, without a doubt, a very important transport media in buildings, industrial plants and on board ships. However, they do present an immediate problem as you cannot see what they contain.

Clear and concise pipework identification is an essential aid to operation maintenance and safety identification in critical or emergency situations, requiring instant action to prevent the escape of dangerous liquids or gasses. Therefore, their RAL colours are subject to European health & safety regulation standards (BS1710 in the UK).
